Zap Skimboards are in!

All new Zap Skimboards on sale, and ready to ship or be picked up at the shop. Right now the water is.. sort of cold. Give it two-three weeks and your in.

The (NEW) Age of Quarrel...Gold Editions!!

The REAL Age of Quarrel series has been updated with gold foil!! Sooo sick! And they look even better in person.

The Quarrel series is also made with R1 construction, which is my preferred board. They have a mellow concave, are a tad bit stiffer than a normal board, tons of pop, and they have 2 cross bands in the ply's that make them suuuper strong. The R1 construction gets my seal of approval!

You can see all the Real Skateboard on our site!

(Re) Introducing the 80D's by Spitfire

These are possibly the best cruiser wheel ever made. 80 durometer outer wheel with a firm polyurethane inner core that gives these bad boys the cruiseability of a soft wheel but the skateability of a hard wheel. I have the 55mm's set up on my cruiser and besides powerslides, they feel like a fast regular wheel. The 80D's float over the cracked streets, bricks on Market St, and pretty much anything you can throw at them.

They come in 9 sizes and 2 colors, grab a set today to through on your daily commuter, liquor store cruiser, filmer board...whatever! With spring just around the corner, now is the time to pick them up and go out and skate!

Check out this video of Davis, Massimo, and Antoine testing them out!!

Skateshop Showdown 2.0 - At Sheilds

SUNDAY APRIL 26, starting at 11am, ending around 7pm. Each shop gets 5 riders for $150. The $150 serves as the entrance fee, and will be donated to the Buonoconti Fund (for paralysis). A check for $150 should be made out to The Buonoconti Fund, NOT Shields Skatepark.

The overall winner of the contest will recieve a ginormously big trophy, and along with it basically the bragging rights for the extended tri-state area. Spectators for the event will also have to pay a $3 admission fee, which also goes to the Buonoconti fund. This will include everyone that comes out. ALSO, as an added bonus, RED BULL USA should be coming out with one of their famous Wiiings Teams to provide us all with cold tasty beverages. Don't miss out on that, because we all know Red Bull costs way more than what's in our wallet, and it will be FREE so fill up to throw down.

It's for a good cause so really, what's 3 bucks to watch some good skating.

Going to Camp: Windells To Install Portable Lift

Windells Snowboard Camp will debut a new, portable lift this summer that can be moved daily to access different terrain. The portable rope tow has been used extensively in Europe to pull riders up faces at 400 ft. per minute, but never in the U.S.

The portability of the 730-T wire handle tow lift, by SunKid lifts of Austria, makes it important during the summer ski and snowboard season on Mount Hood because it can be dismantled each day and moved to the best snow or halfpipe and be ready in the morning.

According to The Oregonian:
One of the world’s premiere snowboard camps, Windells has long been a pioneer in the snowboarding industry. Since Tim Windell opened his camp in 1988, he has trained most every top snowboarder in the world.

With a maximum speed of 400 feet per minute and the ability to extend up to 1,200 feet, lift lines at Windells will be a thing of the past. The 730-T rope tow is also portable so it can be moved at any time.

“Summer conditions are always changing,” says owner and operator Tim Windell, “This new lift will allow us to use the best snow everyday and maximize the experience for every camper at Windells all summer long.”

“I believe these lifts will bring Mount Hood into the 21st century,” said Windell. “Combined with new concrete, BMX and free ride parks, reconstruction on BOB (the camp’s indoor skate park), the newly remodeled cabins and facilities, Windells is gearing up for an action packed summer like no other.”

Uphill conveyance during the summer ski season on Mount Hood is provided by Timberline Lodge on its high-speed Magic Mile and Palmer quad chairlifts. The lifts are stationary, however, so they don’t necessary serve the best dwindling patches of snow as summer runs its course.

Crush Kids Snowboarding

School's in, suckers! The Classroom Collaboration hits the slopes.

After taking a long, hard look at other artistic collaborations across the industry, Ride's designers took a step back and thought about the kind of collab they wanted on their '09-'10 gear and decided to strike out in a new direction. Instead of teaming up with a hoity toity artist, Ride embarked on a collaborative project with Pam Neithercott's third period art class at Denny Middle School (West Seattle, Wash.). Promoting both art and snowboarding within the local youth community, Ride sought out a nearby Seattle school with an art program in need and proudly donated funds for art supplies and provided an on-hill snowboard day for the kids.

The on-hill field trip took place Monday, March 30th. The Ride in-house crew met up with 20 Denny students at their school, hopped on the charter bus and headed up to the Summit at Snoqualmie. The weather and temp made it ideal for these first-timers, and with a good ratio of students to seasoned shredders, the kids were on the lift and riding in no time.

Special thanks go out to the Summit at Snoqualmie, Smith Optics and POW Gloves for their generosity and contributing to the success of the day. We have to also give props to the crew of in-house people that took time to teach and ride with the kids; all had a great time and your efforts made it possible. Last, but certainly not least, thanks to teachers, Pamela and Roxanna, and all the kids that participated, you guys are awesome and we hope to see you out there again soon!

Keep your eyes out in the 09/10 season for the Crush board, EX Franken binding, and the Strapper Keeper boot, featuring the art of Denny Middle School students.

Sean Malto for Thunder Lights!

Head over to www.ThunderTrucks.com and check out Sean Malto's new Thunder Lights ad, video testimonial, and read his interview done by none other than Frank Gerwer.

The interview is short, so you can read it quick, but Sean's Thunder commercial is pretty killer.

I've always been a fan of Thunder skateboard trucks, actually have them on my deck now.
