Mike Anderson's "Lost" Mag Minute
Mike Anderson (Sponsors: eS, Krooked, Spitfire, Thunder, Matix Clothing)
Text Shad Lambert—Edit Benny Maglinao—Video Benny Maglinao, Eric Longden, Scuba Steve—02.07.10
Mike Anderson's "Lost" Mag Minute has a curious history. It was originally scheduled to be launched a while ago as an original trippy edit by his homie Benny. The edit was so different that it seemed to mysteriously vanish of our server, then it would pop back up but be corrupted. It proceeded to disappear and reappear with varying bizarre edits. We thought it was lost forever until last week a VHS tape landed on our doorstep. Watch it now before it goes ghost once again.

NEW Krooked Boards for the Holidaze
The Krooked Block Eyes series is in stock just in time for the Holidaze!
Bobby's board is the always popular 8.38, Corpsey brings us a 8.12, and the Gonz comes in at just over an 8. Three rad boards, three perfect shapes, and 3 perfect graphics. Get em while they're hot!
Also, for the first time ever, I'd like to introduce the Krooked Zip Zinger Nano Jr!!
Or as I like to call it, the Nano Nano. It's a little over 7 inches wide and 27 inches long. That may seem like it's a little small, but when you're standing on it, the shape actually looks like it would be a lot of fun (I haven't set one up yet). It's a perfect weapon for assaulting the streets on trips to the liquor store, burrito place, work....
Part 4 of Max Schaaf's Epicly Later'd is up! Check it out and see why Vert is not dead.
If you're like me and can't get enough Max, then head over to the Chrome Ball Incident and the post he put up with a bunch of old ads/photos.

BONES RIDER CURREN CAPLES WINS A VQS SURF CONTEST
We all know 13-year-old skate prodigy Curren Caples has a flawless "surf" style. But what most people don't know is that the Ventura resident is quickly becoming as skilled in the water as is he is on cement. For proof, check the results of the recent Volcom VQS event on Kauai, where Curren happened to be there on a family vacation and happened to enter the contest on a whim. "They let him in as a 'seventh man' in the first round," said his dad Evan. "He was skins."
But Curren squeaked through the first heat, made it through the second, then the semis. Before he knew it, he was up against some of the heaviest little big guns in the surf world: Ian Gentil and Koa Smith. Granted, it was waist-high, semi-walled Pine Trees. But Curren went out, clicked on a couple rights, and ended up winning the contest. He's now automatically qualified for the VQS Championships in Newport next May. Curren himself is pretty casual about it all and is quick to praise the talents of Gentil and Smith.
But we know what this could mean. With a little more time in the water (his skate schedule currently keeps him away from the ocean for weeks at a time), Curren could be the first legitimate skate/surf crossover star since the Dogtown days.
Keep checking those surf mags for the other "Curren."
